I think I'm starting to see that guiding your kids has never truly been what you really wanted. Sure, it's nice to buy them all nice things, but how would they learn to work and achieve? Sure you can manage to do all the chores in your time, but how would they learn to take care of themselves? In the past 4 years I've only seen a punishment stick once, and really too late. And then they just keep doing as they please. I think what all that you really want is to get along with them. I close on avoiding difficult conversations.
